Administrative Assistant for Conference Center Programs and Events

Location: ESC of Northeast Ohio
Days: Full – Time Preferred with Part-Time Considered
Salary: Hourly or Commensurate with Experience
Work Hours: Daytime hours, within some flexibility required, to assist in supporting, evening and weekend classes, workshops, programs, meetings and activities
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma and 3 years administrative assistant experience. Proficiency and experience with computer & software applications, including Microsoft Office. Working knowledge and skills related to general office procedures and operation of common office equipment. Ability to prioritize projects, tasks and expectations. Perform to a standard of excellence in customer service. Ability to write, speak and communicate effectively. Abilities and attributes to promote positive internal and external customer relations, including creating effective interpersonal relationships and projecting a professional image. Current Ohio’s driver’s license and ability to occasionally lift/and or move up to 50lbs, such as notebooks, reports, etc.
Description: Under general supervision, provides program and administrative assistance and performs a variety of staff support functions for the Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio (ESCNEO). Assists the conference center coordinator in the daily operation of the center. Assists and provides support for the setup, scheduling, and coordination of workshops and meetings conducted. Assists in preparing registration materials and the production and dissemination of promotional flyers and announcements. Presents a positive, pleasant attitude and promotes good relations between the ESC, departments, areas, agencies and the general public. Interested candidates must possess strong customer orientation and excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on integrity and discretion. Must has PC experience (including Microsoft Office (word processing) Excel (spreadsheet experience)
Responsibilities:
Assists in the scheduling and setup of functions, events, workshops, and meetings.
Setup and clean-up of events and room facilities (ex: coffee service, food setup and clean-up)
Provides assistance and support with contracts, purchase orders and other fiscal documents.
Provides receptionist support and responds to general questions regarding programs, events, meetings and ESC operations
Assists staff preparing print and electronic publications, communications and other types of media.
Assists in communicating/posting workshops, programs, meetings and activity room locations and schedules
Provides audio-visual/technology set-up support for ESC classes, workshops, programs, meetings and activities
Assists in the development and delivery of general ESC electronic and print communications
Assists in the scheduling of meeting and conference rooms
Performs general office duties and other duties as assigned
