SERVICE TECHNICIAN

ESCO Group designs and builds machinery for the polyurethane industry. ESCO offers a broad range of foam fabrication machinery, cutting lines, engineered systems, PU meter, mix and dispensing machinery; specializing in low pressure dynamic mixing technology, filled systems, hydrophilic PU systems, as well as hot cast elastomer processing.

The Service Technician role is based out of the Grand Rapids, Michigan and is focused on evaluating and solving customer technical issues. Candidates must be willing to live in the greater Grand Rapids Michigan area. The Service Technician will have the following primary responsibilities while also recognizing the need to remain flexible and work independently with various individuals throughout the organization.

Service Technician RESPONSIBILITIES

• Equipment installation, commissioning, and training at customer sites
• Respond to service calls from the company's installed base with the ability to independently provide solutions
• Work closely with sales, marketing, IT and engineering to develop training and educational materials/courses for internal use and for customers/prospects
• Final testing, installation, and 1st piece production sign-off
• Close interaction with engineering to support customer technical issues
• Responsiveness to warranty claims and communication of findings in support of company continuous improvement goals

Service Technician REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION

• 5 years experience in a plant maintenance or similar service technician role
• Experience in assembly, installation and maintenance of complex industrial equipment
• Great organizational and communication skills with a focus on customer service
• Ability and willingness to travel 75% to 90% of the time, both domestic and internationally (focus on North America)
• Experience with Word and Excel or similar software and AutoCAD is a plus.
• Must have the ability to read an electrical schematic, engineering drawings, bill of materials and troubleshoot using basic electrical skills
• Understanding of PLC logic and similar machine controls
• Work schedule may include extended hours and occasional weekend and night shifts
• Must have the ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and carry objects up to 50lbs and have forklift experience.
• Experience with material handling systems is a plus
• Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle safely
• Experience in the foam/polyurethane manufacturing industry a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
