EDF Renewables North America is Hiring a PowerFlex - Business Development Representative Near San Diego, CA

Scope of Position

Through the comprehensive PowerFlex X platform, PowerFlex leverages patented smart software to control, monitor, and optimize a client's distributed energy resources to reduce cost and maximize return on investment.

The Business Development Representative will play a key role in our EV charging sales strategy and customer success by developing and executing specific tactical new business origination plans and efforts. This position will be the first face and voice of PowerFlex’s EV charging solutions, articulating and quantifying the benefits to property owners & managers, and corporate executives of mid-size to Fortune 500 companies. Serving as a primary EV charging sales originator this role will be responsible primarily for generating new sales qualified leads in all key PowerFlex EV verticals. The Business Development Representative will sit within the EV-first Origination team at PowerFlex, which broadly services the national C&I, institutional and multi-unit dwelling space with EV charging, energy management, solar and storage solutions. 

Responsibilities

  • Originate new C&I, institutional and multi-unit dwelling accounts and turnkey EV charging opportunities through (but not limited to) cold calling, email campaigns, networking and participating in trade shows and conferences 
  • Identify new sales verticals, strategies, and lead sources to grow a pipeline, particularly with repeat customer potential 
  • Develop new relationships with corporate executives, energy/facility/property managers and owners 
  • Regularly prepare and lead compelling virtual and in-person client presentations to introduce PowerFlex’s EV solutions 
  • Skillfully manage a pipeline of nurture and campaign leads to meet and exceed individual volume targets for new business origination 
  • With sufficient experience in the role pursue non-strategic single or limited site opportunities through full sales pipeline to contract negotiation and close with support of cross-functional teams 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop incentive response campaigns 
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams in Marketing, Technologies, Engineering, Execution and Asset Management 
  • Immerse yourself in the EV charging space by tracking market changes, technology/OEMs, incentive programs, general EV trends and understanding the needs of EV drivers 
  • Develop a strong technical baseline through training and development milestones 

Qualifications

Education / Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience 
  • At least 1 year of sales experience in the renewable energy or energy services industries, with at least 1 year in EV charging sales 
  • Conducting outbound origination calls and emails 
  • Managing a pipeline of actionable new business origination leads 
  • Sales qualified lead quota attainment 
  • Significant role in company and solution introductory prospect calls and meetings
