Job Expectations:

  • Partner with the Director of Human Resources, Sr. Human Resources Manager, and operations/administrative leadership to recommend new approaches for continual improvement in productivity, development, culture, and initiatives aligned with the company’s business goals.
  • Analyze factual data and metrics to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions for resolving issues.
  • Implement company programs and processes, acting as a liaison between internal departments and implementing communication initiatives to align employees.
  • Manage leave of absences, accommodations, disability requests to ensure compliance with company policy and state/federal regulations (FMLA, PDL, CFRA, ADA, USERRA, Covid-19).
  • Ensure effective and compliant administration of Worker’s Compensation Claims Management program in partnership with the Safety team.
  • Conduct investigations on employee relations issues, recommend appropriate resolutions, and partner with management for corrective action plans.
  • Provide support to management on performance management, promotions, reorganizations, and other employee programs.
  • Define new roles, update job descriptions, and ensure roles are competitive with business and market strategy.
  • Maintain confidentiality with sensitive information and handle employee relations issues, inquiries, complaints, and leaves of absences.
  • Provide full-cycle HR support from onboarding to offboarding, including conducting exit and termination meetings and coordinating final pay.
  • Assist with requests for employee records, subpoenas, and law enforcement meetings, meeting sensitive deadlines.
  • Coordinate company-wide events, community outreach events, branding initiatives, and negotiate contracts.
  • Implement and support management and employee training for development needs, annual mandatory training, and corrective mandatory training.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required:

  • Approachable and charismatic personality with the ability to connect with employees at all levels.
  • Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvements.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws regarding all human resource areas.
  • Ability to research and interpret employment laws and regulatory changes.
  • Workers’ Compensation experience and knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously under pressure.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to travel locally up to 25%.

Equipment Knowledge:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Outlook, Teams portal.
  • Experience with HRIS, preferably Paycom.

Experience Requirements:

Generally, requires a minimum of 6 years’ experience in progressively responsible human resource roles in a fast-paced environment. Experience working in an HR Corporate environment, logistics, and warehouse work environment preferred.
