POSITION SUMMARY
Perform routine clerical and administrative work in answering telephones, data processing, record keeping, and providing employees and/or applicants assistance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: Because Eastern Shipbuilding is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers, the essential duties and responsibilities may be different than described.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Job Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience: Specialized course work in general office practices such as typing, filing, and bookkeeping, plus one or more years’ experience in an administrative/ clerical position. Six month’s Human Resources experience desired. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus.
Skills: Intermediate level Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook Express. Ability to read and interpret documents such as general business periodicals, professional documents, insurance plans, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, applicants, and the public. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, and smartphones. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
