IT Support Technician
Currently, we are seeking a proactive and customer-focused IT Support technician to join our dynamic IT team in the Southern New Jersey area.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of computer systems and related equipment. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to delivering high-quality technical support. Responsibilities:
1. End-User Support: Provide technical assistance and support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
2. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems promptly. Escalate issues as needed to ensure timely resolution.
3. Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
4. System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including system updates, patches, and antivirus updates.
5. User Account Management: Create, modify, and disable user accounts as per security policies. Manage access permissions.
6. Network Support: Assist in the configuration and troubleshooting of network-related issues, including connectivity and bandwidth problems.
7. Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for IT procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
8. Hardware and Software Procurement: Assist in the procurement of IT equipment and software. Track inventory and ensure proper asset management.
9. Training: Provide basic training to end-users on the use of hardware and software applications.
10. Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive experience for end-users.
Qualifications:
1. Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as an IT Support Technician or in a similar role.
3. Strong knowledge of Windows and/or macOS operating systems.
4. Familiarity with hardware components, software applications, and troubleshooting techniques.
5. Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
6. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
1. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A , Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Technician) are a plus.
2. Experience with remote support tools.
3. Familiarity with Active Directory user and group management.
4. Knowledge of mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
