Overview: Mental Health Workers, operating in an Integrated Community Supports (ICS) capacity, provide direct support professional services and independent living skills training to the individuals we serve in an apartment style setting. Our clients include those with a severe mental illness (SMI) health diagnosis and or traumatic brain injury (TBI) disability.
Location: Hennepin County
Role Responsibilities:
As an Integrated Community Support Mental Health Worker, you will play a crucial role in empowering individuals to lead independent and fulfilling lives. Your responsibilities will include:
Providing personalized 1:1 support to individuals in developing and enhancing independent living skills.
Assisting individuals in managing their mental health by identifying coping strategies, practicing effective coping skills, and exploring alternative methods for managing challenges.
Educating and demonstrating community integration skills, including self-management of medications, handling personal finances, fostering appropriate interpersonal interactions, navigating public transportation, completing essential tasks for maintaining a home, and accessing relevant community resources.
Creating opportunities for informal interaction to facilitate socialization and encourage appropriate behavior among individuals.
Actively participating in both scheduled and spontaneous recreational events to promote social engagement and a sense of belonging within the community.
Offering guidance on adopting healthy living habits and supporting the development of associated skills to enhance overall well-being.
Compensation:
$20 per hour, Part-time

Required Education & Experience:
Ability to pass a Department of Human Services background check.
Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
Willingness to travel within the Metro Area, for applicable mileage reimbursements, with a current driver’s license, clean record, and personal vehicle with insurance; and able to transport clients in that vehicle.
Possess a person-centered approach, consistent with the Dynamics approach of the individual program and service plan.
Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations.
Flexibility to adapt to changes and additional responsibilities as the company and role grow or evolve.
In this role, your dedication to fostering independence, promoting mental wellness, and facilitating community integration will contribute significantly to the holistic care and support provided to individuals within our community.
