Touchstone Mental Health is Hiring a Mental Health Assistants - Summer Training Program Near Minneapolis, MN

Mental Health Assistant (MHA) Summer Training ProgramTouchstone Mental Health offers a paid summer training program for Mental Health Assistants. Participants will learn skills required of the Mental Health Assistant position through training sessions, coaching, support, and other learning opportunities. 
The summer training program requires accepted individuals to work at least 3 shifts per week from May 28th through August 16th. Shifts include evening shifts, weekend shifts, and overnights nights at our programs in Minneapolis and New Hope. Ongoing, individuals will be expected to work at least 2 shifts per month.The pay rate for the summer training program is $17.75 an hourProgram Locations:
  • Minneapolis, Rising Cedar Apartments (Seward Neighborhood)
  • Minneapolis, Minnehaha Commons (Longfellow Neighborhood)
  • New Hope, New Hope Apartments

During the Summer training program, individuals will learn the job duties assigned to Mental Health Assistants. The job duties includes:

• Establishing supportive and motivational relationships with residents

• Coaching residents to use coping strategies and to complete activities of daily living

• Performing behavioral management interventions 

• Performing delegated nursing services, including the administration of medications 

• Ensuring residents and guests are following safety guidelines

• Collaborating with other staff members, consultants, and volunteers
