Assistant Resident Director – Residence Life Salary: Commensurate with experience POSITIONSUMMARY: The Assistant ResidentDirector is responsible for providing services and programs in the area ofstudent development for those students who reside in the Living LearningCenters, while supporting and applying the principles of the University MissionStatement. The Assistant ResidentDirector will work under the direct supervision of the Director of ResidenceLife and the LLC Resident Director. *This is a live-in position requiring aflexible work schedule; some weeknights and weekend work required. Oversees theday to day operation of a residence hall and helps to facilitate a safe, secureand positive living experience for all resident students. Strives tocreate communities of faith and learning by coordinating programs for theresident student population in conjunction with the R.A.’s. Coordinatesthe front desk operation including, hiring, training and scheduling of staff. Responds toemergencies by being on-call at least one night per week and one weekend permonth. Appointed bythe Executive Vice President for Student Life to serve as judicial officer forresident students. Participatesin all staff meetings, training sessions, and appropriate University events. Monitors andreports facilities and housekeeping needs to the Director of Residence Life. Submits dutyreports, weekly reports, occupancy numbers and any other regular report on atimely basis. Promotescommunication both within the Living Learning Center and with Residence Lifestaff, other University employees, parents and other interested persons. Assumesresponsibilities for any other task assigned by the Director of Residence Lifeand the LLC Resident Director, when deemed necessary. Completesother duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: Minimum qualifications: The successful candidate will have earned a Bachelor’s degree from an accreditedinstitution and have previous residence hall administration experience. Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited institution. Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination ofexperience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilitiesrequired to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is notlimited to, the following: Ability to supervise Resident Assistants,Graduate Assistants, Student Aides and clerical staff Considerable knowledge of and appreciation forthe objectives and principles of a residential student living program Considerable knowledge of the operation ofUniversity Residence Halls Ability to communicate effectively, bothorally and in writing Sensitivity to the need of each individual tobe treated with dignity and respect as it relates to diversity in general andthe Mission of the University specifically. Commitment to theUniversity’s values of diversity, equity and inclusion, and recognition of theimportance of treating each individual with dignity and respect consistent withthe University’s Mission.
