Dunavant Enterprises, Inc. is Hiring a Terminal Manager Near Nashville, TN

 

1.0 Position Summary

Responsible for the direct operating health, sales and P&L for Nashville Terminal for Dunavant Sea Lane Express, LLC

2.0 Reporting

Work location: 701 Visco Drive, Nashville, TN 37210

Reports to: SVP, Operations - DSLX

Office hours: 8am – 5pm with afterhours engagement as required

HR FLSA Status: Exempt

3.0 Essential Functions, Job Duties, and Responsibilities

  1. Ensures that terminal is properly staffed, and staff are adequately trained 
  2. Oversees property, leases and safety and security at the terminals 
  3. Directly monitors day to day operations for efficiency and profitability
  4. Assist in development of operational and sales strategies
  5. Works directly with sales team to ensure adequate revenue
  6. Make additional sales calls as needed
  7. Manages and monitors terminal budget and is responsible for ensuring budgeted numbers are met. 
  8. Direct Capex, Opex and P&L oversight
  9. Responsible for proper XRS training, installs and ensures HOS are being met
  10. Responsible for terminal following proper process and procedure in TMW operating system
  11. Responsible for terminals following proper MNR, billing, CSR and Admin processes and procedures
  12. Handles all other task related to the terminal and backup.
  13. Performs all other duties or projects as assigned.
  14. Travel as needed to attend meetings and conferences

4.0 Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college; or two years to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

5.0 Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements

  • Computer skills – Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and to effectively present information to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to comprehend 24-hour clock system.
  • Ability to collate time/distance scheduling for 24/7 operation.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to understand financial and sales performance statements
  • Ability to work with and manage people

6.0 Work Conditions, Physical and/or Mental Requirements

  • Sedentary physical activity requiring reaching, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, and hearing.
  • Visual requirement is for close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • 90% or more time is spent looking directly at a computer.
  • Employee is frequently required to stand, walk (or otherwise be mobile).
  • Employee is frequently required to lift and carry a minimum of 15 pounds.
  • Ability to deal with stressful situations as they arise.

Duties are primarily performed in an office environment. Minimal physical effort is required. Lifting and carrying requirements of up to 15 pounds. Occasional or frequent ability to move boxes from one location to another. These physical and/or mental requirements are not exhaustive, and additional job-related requirements may be added by the Company on an as-needed basis.
