About the Position

The Senior Manager, Marketing and Communications will play an integral role in the Downtown Denver Partnership and Downtown Denver Business Improvement District (BID) marketing processes, content generation, email marketing, and web updates. Under the direction of the Director, External Affairs, this position will continue drive the Downtown Denver brand forward by creating a strategic marketing plan, and managing the creative team to execute tactics that build and engage the Downtown Denver Partnership audience. 

All Partnership Team Members share a responsibility for recognizing, creating and implementing plans to promote diversity and inclusion within their and the organization’s respective programs and initiatives. Where applicable, this includes involving external stakeholders to coordinate and promote the Partnership’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. About the Job

  • Serve as the leader of the Marketing & Communications team, providing strategy, guidance and support to a team of dynamic creatives and communicators.
  • Lead a comprehensive marketing and communications plan under the direction of the Director, External Affairs that leverages owned and earned channels and integrates the Partnership’s can’t-miss priorities.
  • Lead the vision and execution of innovative, creative marketing strategies for the Partnership and its programs, events, and initiatives, as well as overarching strategies that promote Downtown Denver as the best place to live, visit, and do business.
  • Oversee an effective project management and ticketing process that ensures timely deliverables for internal stakeholders.
  • Lead the creative direction of dynamic print and digital collateral, from visuals for social to high-impact public realm signage.
  • Manage Partnership contractors and vendors for special projects and campaigns.
  • Create and disseminate internal and external communications using an email marketing tool.
  • Support media relations activities including research, media coverage, monitoring and reporting.
  • Act as liaison to internal clients, managing the development and implementation of MarCom processes and procedures throughout the organization.
  • Facilitate community relationships and coordinates cross promotional opportunities with Partnership members and partners.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

About You

To be successful in this position, you must be a strategic and creative communicator and team leader with a keen sense of Partnership programs and how best to support our team in engaging partners. You should possess a deep commitment to instilling practices and a culture that reflects The Downtown Denver Partnership.

  • 5-7 years’ experience in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.
  • Experience managing a creative team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related degree preferred.
  • Experience working with WordPress, graphic design software, and social media platforms.
  • Ability to stay informed on best practices, industry trends and Denver happenings.
  • Superb writing and editing skills.
  • A great sense of humor.
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, respond quickly to changes, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while supporting a collaborative work approach as a leader of the Marketing and Communications Team.
  • Commitment to City Building and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
