Job Title: Development Coordinator

Classification: Nonexempt

Salary Range: $19.77 - $26.69 per hour

Reports to: Director of Development

What you’ll do:

This position reports to the Director of Development and provides high-level administrative support to the Director and development team. They will assist the development team with executing fundraising initiatives and achieving overall fundraising goals, work closely with the team to ensure that all fundraising activities are properly coordinated and recorded, ensure that all donor information is accurately maintained in the database, coordinate development team calendars, assist the team with developing and executing donor recognition programs, help to grow and cultivate established and new donor relationships.

All positions at Discovery Lab are required to assist with front-line operations as needed and may be assigned other duties as applicable by their direct supervisor. This position description is representative of the major position requirements and is not intended to be all-inclusive.

1. Maintains Altru donor database including timely gift processing and tracking of all donor data, acknowledgements, queries, mailing lists, and reports.

2. Assists with creation and maintenance of donor lists, queries, and reports.

3. Filing all donation-related paperwork and maintaining organized filing systems.

4. Support the Director of Development with calendar management, correspondence, and other tasks as assigned.

5. Assist the development team in creating and implementing fundraising strategies and initiatives.

6. Collaborate with the development team to cultivate relationships with donors and sponsors.

7. Lead and participate in departmental meetings which will include booking meeting space, preparing agendas, distributing materials, keeping meeting minutes, and ensuring timely follow up on tasks.

8. Coordinate donor meetings and assist in the planning and execution of donor events.

9. Conduct prospect research and donor profiles.

10. Maintain donor databases and organization of digital files.

11. Send acknowledgement letters and thank-you notes to donors.

12. Track donations, pledges, and grant deadlines to ensure timely follow-up and acknowledgment.

13. Collect, analyze and report accurate and up to date data on fundraising outcomes.

What you’ll need:

· Highly motivated with the ability to exercise initiative and good judgment, ability to deal with rapidly changing priorities, possess excellent problem-solving, organization, administrative, and interpersonal skills.

· Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.

· Thorough knowledge of business English and math, office/accounting/budgeting principles, procedures, and standards.

· Minimum 2 years of administrative or development experience or equivalent.

How you’ll work:

This position is regular, full-time, and nonexempt with a typical schedule of Monday – Friday. Occasional after-hours or weekends may be required. Shared office environment.
