POSITION SUMMARY:

This position encompasses the accountability for quality control from trainings for all clinic areas throughout Renaissance Medical Foundation / DHR Health Clinic offices. This will be enforced by implementing and evaluating processes to meet the education department and competency needs of the education training program. The position is also responsible for the process training specifically registration, scheduling, insurance verification and other areas. Assist in designing the training programs to identify the appropriate courses to include in the curriculum, and incorporate the material into the sessions based on experiences and feedback from Renaissance Medical Foundation leadership. Education Program Assistant will assist in all training aspects of clinic education curriculum. Education Program Assistant will assist in evaluating, developing, implementing, and maintaining the education as RMF offices continue to evolve.

POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS :

  • HS Diploma or GED required, preferred
  • Medical Office Specialist or Medical Assistant certificate, preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Position requires travel, valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance are required
  • Bilingual – English / Spanish, preferred
  • Computer skills required with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Internet
  • EMR experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and customer service skills
  • The position will require excellent comprehensive writing and critical thinking skills

JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE :

  • Two (2) years of experience in a MD group practices as a medical office specialist or administrative assistant preferred
  • Knowledge in the following areas: patient registration, physician billing requirements, and clinic workflow processes
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with department heads, supervisory staff, and team members
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to transfer knowledge are essential
  • Ability to work with minimum of supervision

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others. Considers mission, vision and values in developing services, standards and practices
  • Conduct routine needs assessments to identify learning needs
  • Assist in developing, implementing and educational programs for all current applications and processes including but not limited to: registration, scheduling, insurance verification and other areas if needed.
  • Assist in developing, implementing and evaluate in-service programs or workshops. Collaborate with Educators to develop training programs for new and existing employees and service lines.
  • Manage training calendar and classes in the training rooms
  • Track all employees to ensure staff has attended all mandatory sessions
  • Assist in developing training packets for new team members and provide orientation programs. Maintain records to document accountability, competence and compliance.
  • Routinely meet with Clinic Educators to identify education and process issues from the clinic and develop plans of action to rectify the problems
  • Keep lines of communication open between Educators, Liaisons and Process Improvement Educators when training front staff, insurance verification and other departments.
  • Participate in all Revenue Cycle team activities.
  • Maintain professional affiliations and attend seminars, conferences, etc.
  • Assist and/or perform trainings in a clinic or controlled environment when needed
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned or requested

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

Provide excellent customer service to all DHR customers. All employees are required to attend the DHR C.A.R.E.S program which outlines the Customer Service Principals including: Commitment, Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Service.

AGE SPECIFIC :

Employees must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirement relative to his or her age.

B. Working Conditions : The individual spends over 95% of his/her time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The position does have low exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids from patients and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents.

C. Occupational Exposure: This position has minimal to no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and is an OSHA Category III (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids). Person who performs these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way.
