Benefits Account Manager
Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Benefits Account Manager to join our team. The Benefits Account Manager will play a crucial role in managing client relationships, ensuring the effective implementation and administration of employee benefits programs. This position requires a deep understanding of insurance products, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex benefit structures.
Responsibilities:
  • Client Management
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
    • Conduct regular client meetings to understand their needs, provide updates and address concerns.
  • Benefits Administration
    • Coordinate the implementation and enrollment of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, dental, vision, life and other ancillary coverages.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and changes affecting benefits and communicate updates to clients.
  • Consultative Services
    • Provide expert guidance and consultation to clients on benefit plan design, compliance, and cost-saving strategies.
    • Collaborate with clients to customize benefit offerings that align with their organizational goals.
  • Claims Resolution
    • Assist clients in navigating and resolving benefits-related issues, including claims resolution and appeals.
  • Renewal Management
    • Manage the annual benefits renewal process, including gathering necessary data, preparing renewal presentation, and negotiating with carriers for the best terms.
  • Compliance
    • Ensure clients’ benefits programs comply with relevant laws and regulations, such as ERISA, ACA, and HIPPA.
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Generate and analyze reports on benefits utilization, costs and trends to provide insights and recommendations to clients.
    • Assist client in making informed decisions based on data analysis.
  • Problem Resolution
    • Proactively identify and address issues, working collaboratively with internal teams and clients to find effective solutions.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • Life & Health license, as required by the State Department of Insurance.
  • 2-4 Years of previous account management experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits, insurance products and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organization and time-management abilities.
  • Proficient in using benefits administration software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Epic/Applied Agency software a plus.
