Overview

JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Infrastructure Engineer position will work as a lead technical position primarily assigned to one customer, comprised of roughly 600 users. The position holds principal responsibility in the area of on-premises infrastructure technologies and additional secondary responsibilities within AWS cloud architectures.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Interfaces with Program Director and Deputy PM on technical matters that arise related to customers.
• Contributes to technical discussions regarding the acquisition and/or implementation of new products and services.
• Provides project plans, technical briefs, architectural design, implementation, and operating procedure documents.
• Provides event management ticket triage, assignment, and resolution.
• Participates in incidents as a first responder, incident engineer, and/or incident manager.
• Performs problem management and root cause analysis, then implements corrective actions.
• Holds a position in an on-call rotation schedule.
• Contributes to internal operational systems including Kaseya, ConnectWise, Password Vault, etc.
• Provides customer relationship management; serves as technical point of contact for some customers.
• Perform proactive monitoring to identify potential or actual problems and provide solutions
• Provides escalation for end user support issues; contributes to end user support engineer team training.
• Provides suggestions for continual service and efficiency improvements.
• Designs, deploys, and manages:
  • Enterprise network architectures with fault-tolerant topologies
  • Sonicwall firewalls with HA WAN topologies
  • On-premises hypervisor technologies including VMware, Nimble, iSCSI

•  Microsoft Services (Windows Server, AD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, CA).
• Works during late night or weekend maintenance windows will be required at times related to incidents and upgrade cutovers. Management seeks to maintain a 40 hour work week during late-night/weekend work.
• Travels a few times a year including air travel for 2-5 days.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Serve as the primary point of contact to the security operations center (SOC) and collaborate with the SOC to remediate security vulnerabilities.
• Cisco Meraki access points

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree preferably in information technology or related field; and
• 7 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Expert understanding of switching and routing. Hardware including Aruba/Meraki.
• Requires experience designing high availability and disaster recovery solutions
• Desired Expertise and Certifications:
  • CCNP/CCNA or Aruba ACSA/ACSP
  • VMware Certified Professional
  • Sonicwall Network Security Administrator (or comparable firewall related cert)
  • Microsoft MCSA/MCSE Windows Server

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities. Some travel will be required a few times a year to various hotels throughout USA and Canada.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The individual will be subject to sedentary work with the majority of hours in a professional office environment and will need to be able to quickly respond to a change in work demands. The individual is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing a computer terminal. Occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects (1-40 lbs.) are required.
