EMERGING TECH is Hiring an Azure Infrastructure & DevOps Engineer Near Washington, DC

Emerging Tech is currently seeking a seasoned professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience for the role of DevOps/Infrastructure Engineer. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in administering both on-premise and Azure cloud-based Windows and Linux servers, coupled with a proficiency in configuring and maintaining DevOps pipelines utilizing tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Azure DevOps. A crucial aspect of this role involves ensuring system availability, performance, and security, as well as conducting incident management and root cause analysis. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional troubleshooting skills, along with a strong foundation in network administration and familiarity with tools like Splunk for effective monitoring and alerting. Experience with Azure Cloud technologies and Agile methodologies is highly advantageous. Effective communication skills are essential for collaboration within a diverse team environment, which includes both Federal Employees and Contractors. A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is required to complement the candidate's extensive hands-on experience. Clearance-wise, candidates must be eligible for Public Trust Clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer on-premise and Azure cloud-based Windows and Linux servers hosting various applications
  • Maintain Windows and Linux servers and applications hosted in Azure environments
  • Configure, maintain and support DevOps pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Azure DevOps
  • Defining and setting development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation
  • Installation and configuration of MS SQL Database Servers
  • Manage certificates including requests, renewals, installations, and troubleshooting
  • Ensure system availability, performance, capacity, and monitoring through proper response to incidents, events, and problems
  • Establish and manage effective system monitoring and alerting using Splunk or a similar monitoring tool
  • Analyze and address server-level security vulnerabilities
  • Install, configure, maintain, administer, and enhance Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, Sonar, and Git servers
  • Develop and maintain installation, configuration, and operations procedures
  • Perform incident management and conduct root cause analysis
  • Documentation of infrastructure SOPs and other artifacts
  • Other similar professional duties may be assigned as needed

Qualifications:

  • Must have 5 to 6 years of hands-on experience as a DevOps/Infrastructure Engineer
  • Experience in managing application servers such as IIS and Tomcat in Windows and Linux environments
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve issues
  • Experience with Windows Server Administration
  • Experience with tools such as Jenkins, Git, SonarQube, and Coverity
  • Experience using Python, batch scripts, PowerShell, Bash, or Java
  • Good understanding of networks, firewalls, troubleshooting, and basic network administration
  • Experience with Splunk or similar monitoring tool
  • Experience with Azure Cloud technologies is a plus
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Experience with incident management and root cause analysis processes
  • Effective communication skills to work in a large team consisting of Federal Employees and Contractors
  • Prior experience with Federal Government projects is a plus
  • Agile scrum experience preferred

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
