Location: Snoqualmie - Fulltime position

Salary: $3,883.00 - $5,214.00 Monthly. The salary does not include an additional 5% premium pay for employees working in King County or an on-site 24/7 facility 5% premium.

The Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) is looking for an Administrative Assistant 4(AA4) to Provide administrative and confidential secretarial support to the Superintendent for Juvenile Rehabilitation (JR) at Echo Glen Children's Center.

The Opportunity:
You will supervise staff and coordinate clerical services as well as perform complex secretarial duties. There is frequent and direct contact with clients, the public, staff, and other agencies. You will act as the regional representative for personnel-related functions and on statewide committees, and establish office support procedures, standards, priorities and deadlines.

Some of what you'll do:

  • Model kindness, empathy, inclusivity, and resourcefulness to everyone at all times.
  • Primary contact for all media, public, legislative, and dignitary requests for information and access to the facility and its programs.
  • Receive, monitor, and address inquiries from the public, media, special interest groups, the community, and other agencies.
  • Prepare information for release to the media/public as approved by the responsible manager.
  • Designated Legal Liaison Officer (LLO) for the facility.
  • Coordinate legal advice from the responsible manager for legal issues and/or the Attorney General's Office to advise staff regarding work-related legal issues.
  • Compile information regarding litigation filed against the facility and/or staff. Ensure that information and responses are complete, accurate, organized, and timely.
  • Commit the Superintendent's time against pre-established priorities and use independent judgment to evaluate assignments directed to the Superintendent.
  • Review all hiring packets to ensure all paperwork is completed,
  • Represent and speak for Superintendent on administrative and policy matters at meetings.
  • Support the development, implementation, tracking, and reporting associated with the institution's strategic plan and annual operations plan, and other goals, objectives, and assignments originating from the Superintendent's office.

Required Qualifications:
A High School Diploma/GED
AND
Four years of progressively responsible experience in office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work.

In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following skills and/or abilities:

  • Previous demonstrated work experience in a highly accountable and measured performance environment.
  • Previous demonstrated work experience as an administrative assistant or secretary within a Juvenile Rehabilitation facility and/or residence.
  • Prior experience and ability to participate in a cohesive and collaborative team environment.
  • Prior experience supervising one or more employees.
