Essential Functions and Objectives:

Responsible for envisioning and building the capacity of the organization to effectively differentiate support for growing talent across the system in alignment with the District’s strategic roadmap. Focus areas will range from supporting new International Educators through wrap-around services through their novice years and beyond. Strategic efforts to ensure that goals and objectives of the team are accomplished; working cross-functionally across all Office of Talent and collaborate with one or more specific areas of work (e.g. Growth and Performance, Multilingual Education, Culturally Sustaining Curriculum and Instruction (CSCI), Independent Contractors, Agency Support, External Stakeholder and Community Members in support of newly arrived International Educators. Build a sustainable training and development program, which will include but not limited to orientation, summer academy, micro credential program, develop international teachers understanding of growth and performance and expectations in the DPS, increase sense of support and belonging, leading to increased satisfaction and retention and help them thrive professionally, socially, or emotionally.
  • Collaborates across teams to envision, develop, and implement tools and resources to prepare, grow and support top talent in the District.
  • Builds the capacity of central support members to grow in their career effectiveness, improving the service and outcomes for schools and students.
  • Works across departments to envision, develop and implement activities to fulfill four critical priorities (extended onboarding, professional development, cultural transition assistance and social and emotional support) for all international educators.
  • Develops and executes the vision and strategy for novice teacher support for summer programming.
  • In a subset of identified high-need schools and in close partnership with other school support partners, supports the development of novice and early career teachers through building the capacity of Instructional Leadership Team members to support new teachers.
  • Designs and delivers professional learning for novice teachers as part of the summer induction experience and the New Educator Welcome.
Envisions, develops and maintains relationships with key community partners and establishes ongoing support and collaboration.
  • Sustains and implements best practices on culturally responsive practices, including American pedagogy and learning environments and other development programs that support the retention of employees of the District.

K
nowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:
  • Five (5) or more years of successful teaching experience in an urban setting, including demonstrated experience with increasing student achievement and closing the achievement gap.
  • Three (3) or more years of instructional coaching and project management.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in adult facilitation.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office/Google products including Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effectively handles multiple demands and competing deadlines.
  • The ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance.
  • Works collaboratively with others on a team.
  • Aptitude for variety and changing expectations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in delivering feedback and designing professional learning to support others in giving feedback.
  • Extensive knowledge of best practices for culturally and linguistically diverse student populations.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field is required.
  • Colorado Teacher or Administrator License; Culturally and Linguistically Diverse or Bilingual Education Endorsement on Educator License
