Default Brand is Hiring a Project Manager Near Miami, FL

The Project Manager completes structural analysis, prepares plans and specifications and reviews contractor submittals, shop drawings and RFI's. Independent problem solving, decision-making and the implementation of standard engineering procedures are used to direct the flow of engineering work as well as overseeing production work of junior engineers and BIM technicians. The role coordinates structural engineering design with the client, project Architects, municipal agencies and other design team members and forecasts workload and schedules for project team and manage communication and documentation for the project.

This position is classified as salaried, exempt. The hiring salary range for this role is $100,000-$115,000, dependent upon experience and qualifications.

Essential functions:• Designs, formulates plans and supervises construction projects.
• Facilitate the required design and documentation of projects.
• Assistance in cost and personnel estimating as well as proposal preparation.
• Supervise the work of junior engineers and participates in project staffing discussions.

  • Excellence in solving engineering problems and extensive knowledge of model design codes.
  • Ability to effectively identifies project issues and to solve problems with the aid of established internal guidelines and approved design programs.
  • Thoroughly and efficiently organizes material for review by Supervisor.
  • Performs accurate checking of project documentation.

  • Understand and aware of firm’s project financial reports.
  • Provides input concerning project budgeting and collections.
  • Intimately aware of specific project scope, contracts and related subjects.
  • Accurately charges own labor to proper project numbers and ensures this accuracy for other staff on the project.

Teamwork and Leadership

  • Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Ability to lead and supervise an internal project team on analyses and design with minimal direction
  • Maintains positive attitude and constructive approach to projects.
  • Shows commitment to project goals and applies extra effort when necessary.

  • project team and inter-office issues.
  • Mentors, trains and shares technical skills and experiences with project team other team members.

Supervisory responsibilities: Yes, project team consisting of Engineers, Project Engineers and Senior Project Engineers.

Work environment: Office setting and visits to construction sites as needed.

Physical demands: The physical demands of the job include, walking, sitting and typing.

Position type and expected hours of work: This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday with the local standard business hours. Overtime is expected when needed to meet job demands.

Travel: To client and construction sites as needed.

Required education and experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer’s (PE) license.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in structural analysis and design of mid to high-rise buildings, including project management.
  • Ability to perform and supervise the design and analysis of mid to high rise buildings utilizing software packages such as ETABS, RAM, RISA, and SAFE.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and the ability to work in AutoCAD.
  • Extensive knowledge of local and national building codes and design practices.
  • Knowledge of standard construction practices and the ability to work with contractors to address construction issues
  • Detail oriented with strong interpersonal, problem solving and team skills.
  • Knowledge of ETABS, SAFE, AutoCad, PCA or other similar design tools.
  • Detail oriented with strong interpersonal skills.

Preferred Requirements:

  • MS degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or related field.
