This position is 50% virtual, 50% in-person. This is not a fully remote position.The position will require a good amount of traveling within the 14 counties.

Position responsibilities include: 

The Interpreter Services Manager will collaborate closely with the Executive Director and the Interpreting Services Department to uphold high standards of business practices and ensure comprehensive coverage of the interpreting requirements in the 14 counties that DCARA serves

Required Experience:

• • Develops and implements interpreting contracts and bids, works closely with the Executive Director on rates.
  • Researches and submits bids, recruits interpreters and updates existing/previous contracts.
  • Experience in setting goals, objectives, and trends for interpreting business services.
  • Ability to apply principles and techniques of management, training and supervision of a full team of IS staff.
  • Ability to self regulate with professional interpersonal skills including tact, patience, and courtesy.
  • Effective communications skills using ASL alternatively with written English in applicable language rules & structure.
  • Have basic knowledge and principles of budget planning and monitoring.
  • Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) including knowledge of technical signs for medical, educational, and meeting settings.
  • Intuitive and Immersed in Deaf culture and the Deaf community.

Required Education and Skills:

• • BA Degree or Equivalent,
  • Five (5) years of documented experience in the interpreting field
