Client is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer to join our Technology team. This role reports to a Senior Data
Engineer. The ideal candidate is well versed in Power BI and has experience in connecting, maintaining, and transforming
data for use in Business Intelligence. They should also have experience in Power BI report development and be able to
design and implement data models, dashboards, and visualizations to support business requirements.
About the Job
As a Senior BI Engineer you will be responsible for analyzing user requirements, making recommendations, writing SQL
queries, and implementing Power BI enabled data & analytics solutions. You will solve complex business problems and
issues using data from internal and external sources to provide actionable insights to decision-makers. We are open to
remote candidates within the United States on Eastern or Central Standard Time zone.
What you'll do?
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain SQL view statements ensuring data availability and reliability for analysis and reporting.
• Design and implement efficient data models that support complex business scenarios and enable self-service
reporting.
• Create insightful and interactive dashboards and visualizations using Power BI.
• Optimize report performance and resolve issues related to data quality, accuracy, and consistency.
• Collaborate with other technology teams to integrate BI solutions with existing systems and applications.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest BI technologies, trends, and best practices.
About You

You will be successful in this role if you have:
• 4 years’ experience in Power BI Report development including DAX formula language creating visual reports,
paginated reports, and dashboards.
• Experience with connecting data sources, importing data, and transforming data for business intelligence. 
• A background writing, debugging, and optimizing SQL queries, or the willingness to learn.
• The ability to develop tabular and multidimensional models that are compatible with data warehouse standards.
• Implemented row level security on data and understand application security layer models in Power BI.
• Analytical thinking for translating data into informative reports and visuals. 
• Proven track record of delivering data driven solutions with a customer first mindset.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex data sets.
• Ability to work effectively independently, or in a team environment, and collaborate with other teams.
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex technical jargon in simple terms.
• Experience in an agile development environment.
• Snowflake, Gitlab, Python, NetSuite and/or Salesforce.com experience is a plus.
• The desire to learn new skills and teach others what you know.
