Job Overview:Business Intelligence (BI) supports the business with data, reports and analytics ranging from operational to strategic, for monitoring, gaining insight and improving business performance.The role of a Business Intelligence Analyst Level 3 is to elicit, analyze and validate the advanced and complex BI needs of the business. This includes interviewing stakeholders, gathering, and compiling user requirements to understand the solutions they need. The BI Analyst will apply communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to present the right data in the right format to help the business make the right decision.Essential Responsibilities:Keep up to date with functionality and advanced features of Cognos / MicroStrategy toolsAcquire knowledge of business processes and source dataReceive requests from the business and prioritize accordinglyResearch and identify the key business metrics and KPIs that will be needed for the reportLead storyboarding sessions to assist business users in defining requirementsDocument the business initiatives and deliverables of the requestTest and validate the deliverable to ensure it is accurate and ready for the userAddress issues and resolve requests for additional informationMaintain clear and open line of communication with business usersProvide guidance and support to junior BI analystsTake ownership of projectsAdhere to B&H policies and procedures including data security/privacy guidelinesPreferred Education, Experience and Licenses:8 years using Cognos / MicroStrategy or other BI toolsExpert understanding of Business Intelligence and data scienceAdvanced SQL coding language expertiseKnowledge of python coding languageExpert understanding of Data Warehouse design and data modelsSpecific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skillsExcellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skillsLogical and efficient, with keen attention to detailAbility to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressureStrong customer service orientationExperience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environmentHighly self-motivated and directed
