Datadog is Hiring an Instructional Design Manager Near New York, NY

Datadog's Go-to-Market (GTM) Enablement team is a unique strategy and curriculum team that plays an integral part in connecting our go-to-market approach and curriculum to customer value. We're interdisciplinary thinkers leveraging diverse business backgrounds in engineering, education, management consulting, business operations (and more!) to define, manage and measure Datadog's global go to market motion. We empower all of Datadog's customer-facing teams with the right information, skills, and tools at the right time in order to maximize their ability to land, expand and drive Datadog's next phase of growth.

At Datadog, our sales enablement programs are constantly evolving to match the rapid growth of our business. We are looking for a creative and results-driven Instructional Designer to supercharge Datadog's global enablement impact.

In this position, you will partner with the broader GTM Enablement teams to build end-to-end interactive and compelling e-learning design and enablement assets. This role will play a critical role in the design of major cross-functional sales and product enablement programs, ranging from live trainings to e-learning and assets that impact sellers across all major businesses. This role reports to the Manager, Sales Enablement at Datadog.

What'll You Do:

  • Design a wide range of enablement content, ranging from e-learnings, live trainings, job aides, assessments, videos, and micro-learnings that apply cutting-edge best practices in adult learning design

  • Partner with the GTM enablement team to define their training needs and provide learning structure and design feedback. Partner with various GTM Enablement team members to develop content for audiences across Sales and Customer Success teams

  • Implement learning technologies including integrating gamification strategies Develop gamification strategies for the engaging e-learning modules

  • Ensure template standardization across all of our current assets for our live and virtual training programs

  • Support our e-learning library redesign to ensure it's digestible and easily accessible by our sales team

  • Mentor and coach the Enablement team by sharing best practices in instructional designDesign virtual, in-person, on-demand and ad hoc learning experiences and resources to support a dynamic and blended approach to our sales org

Who You Are:

  • At least 4 years in instructional design, preferably at a B2B SaaS company

  • Deep understanding of cutting edge instructional design and adult learning theory. Experience working cross functionally

  • Demonstrated project management experience creating alignment with cross-functional teams and delivering quality product on short timeframes

  • Experience applying adult learning methodologies to design virtual and on-demand learning content and evaluate the success of a learning experience

  • Experience designing content with a variety of learning tools and technology, including Articulate 360, Docebo, video editing, etc.

  • High ownership: You won't be satisfied until every GTM function achieves their potential

  • Experience developing dynamic and engaging trainings for various audiences

  • Outstanding verbal and written communicator: You make the complex simple

  • Team oriented and empathetic: You can work with leaders, analysts, engineers, reps, marketing, your own team, whomever!

  • Scrappy and entrepreneurial: You enjoy building and iterating, and don't mind getting messy

  • BA / BS required

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Datadog ranges from $95,000 to $140,000, plus a competitive equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, Datadog offers a wide range of best in class, comprehensive and inclusive employee benefits for this role including healthcare, dental, parental planning, and mental health benefits, a 401(k) plan and match, paid time off, fitness reimbursements, and a discounted employee stock purchase plan.
