About the Role

Dandy is on the lookout for a visionary Design Manager to lead our dynamic product design team. This role is perfect for someone with a deep passion for user-centered design, boasting over 8 years of experience in product design, ideally within fast-paced tech startups. Our ideal candidate has a track record of managing design teams through the complete product lifecycle, from ideation to launch, across both physical and digital touchpoints. As a leader in our product team, you'll mentor designers, collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, operators, and dental professionals. You will not only drive the creation of products that are fostering a growing level of engagement and efficiency for both internal and external customers, but also ones that are exceptionally user-friendly and delightful.

What You'll Do

• Lead and expand the product design team, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and collaboration.

• Strategize and oversee the design process, ensuring seamless integration of user research, wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity designs into the product development lifecycle.

• Mentor team members, helping them grow their skills and career paths, while maintaining high design standards and practices.

• Collaborate with product managers, engineering, and go-to-market leaders to define product strategy, ensuring design solutions meet customer needs and business goals.

• Drive the evolution of our design system, ensuring it supports efficient and effective design and development processes.

• Balance long-term vision with short-term objectives, making strategic decisions on design priorities and trade-offs.

• Champion user-centered design principles across the organization, advocating for user needs and ensuring the delivery of optimal user experiences.

What We're Looking For

• A seasoned design leader with 8 years of product design experience, including substantial time leading design teams.

• A portfolio showcasing excellence in UX and visual design, with a strong emphasis on user-centric methodologies and a successful track record of leading projects from conception to completion.

• Expertise in prototyping, interaction design, and utilizing design systems, with a preference for those proficient in Figma.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a knack for delivering simple solutions to complex challenges.

• Experience fostering team growth and advocating for design best practices and processes within a collaborative, iterative design environment.

• Strategic and product thinking capabilities, with a focus on understanding the 'why' behind design decisions and product directions.

• Adaptability in a fast-paced startup environment, comfortable with juggling multiple roles and responsibilities.

Bonus Points For

• Experience in designing and building CAD tools and/or dental related interfaces

• Experience with illustration, animation, and print design skills to enhance product storytelling and brand experience.
