About our team

The VBG Design team is a group within the Verizon Business Group tasked with evolving the Verizon Business customer experience across all channels and touchpoints through the design and implementation of experiences for business customers. We are also responsible for creating experiences and tools that our sales employees use to best service Verizon Business customers. 

What you’ll be doing

This role is a Experience Design Senior Manager role within the Customer Sales portfolio on the VBG Design team. You’ll be focused on creating and evolving experiences for existing Verizon Business customers as well as sales reps/associates that serve those customers.

You are a model design practitioner who leads, facilitates and delivers sound and effective design solutions through collaboration with team and partners. You collaborate with your team to come up with ideas and make things, but also guide them to make the right decisions for the user and business. You can also work independently and deliver reliably within deadlines. You are accountable for the growth of yourself and modeling quality and craft for the other designers on your team. You help designers make connections across platforms and channels. You support the team, are sensitive to their goals and challenges, and deliver real-time feedback. You facilitate collaboration with product, tech, and business partners on your projects. Outside of your projects, you externalize your skills and knowledge to colleagues.You are comfortable thinking on your feet and handling complexity. You communicate confidently, concisely and clearly.

• Generating innovative ideas, solutions, and opportunities and finding ways to apply those ideas to enhance business results.

• Judge solution quality and context appropriateness, with a solid understanding of the constraints of the backend architecture.

• Guide a range of exploration, with an eye towards scaling across various VBG platforms and channels.

• Identify design problems and opportunities from broad requirements and propose a roadmap for how to tackle opportunities.

• Conduct user testing to gain insights and understand needs.

• Engage in and push the team to do divergent/convergent group work.

• Design within an established set of rules, but know where to appropriately push and modify the design system.

• Articulate user, business, or technical reasoning for design decisions.

• Maintain organized working files and project directories.

• Explore, refine, and document solutions thoroughly.

• Mastery in shared tools and software (Figma, Figjam, Sketch, Invision)

• Target appropriate methods and fidelity based on objectives of the project.

• Objectively evaluate and refine concepts based on learning from UX research. 

Where you’ll be working…

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for

You'll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

• Six or more years of relevant work experience.

• Experience designing technical/business applications or complex enterprise systems.

• Experience leading designers who work in different time zones (ie. India and US)

Even better if you have:

• A degree in design or related field of study.

• A portfolio of UX design work from pencil and whiteboard, to wireframes and prototypes (blog, Dribbble, Github, etc).

• Ability to digest and translate complex technical requirements into intuitive experiences.

• Portfolio examples of enterprise applications.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
