Headquartered in Bohemia, NY the company employs over 350 people globally. DDC is a leading global designer, producer and supplier of highly engineered aircraft components for use on nearly all commercial and military aircraft.
To ensure excellent sales results, DDC intends to hire a Business Development Manager (BDM) for North America.
The expected salary range for the role is $105k - $180k annually, This salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position and is subject to change at any time.
This position requires a U.S Person or a person who can qualify for a department of state or commercial license.
Mission:
The BDM will be responsible for the management and coordination of product line business capture for the company at selected strategic accounts. This includes the identification of new business opportunities and development of win strategies for business capture.
Scope:
The BDM role is an individual contributor who will collaborate with senior functional leaders and technical experts across the company. The BDM will report directly to the Vice President of Sales.
Travel:
Must be able to travel more than 50% depending on the needs of the business. Travel will be regional and include Prime/OEM meetings, distributor/Rep meetings, sales events such as trade shows, customer site visits with either sales personnel or distributors or Reps, and corporate meetings.
Key Objectives:
The successful BDM must produce the following actions and results:
STRATEGIC SELLING: Own the development of strategic and/or tactical plans to win profitable new business. This includes:
SALES: Responsible to maintain EBITDA in year one and position for growth in year two by focusing on the following:
FORECASTS: Generates and maintains Orders Forecasts for selected strategic account activities. Coordinates information and activities with the Business Unit Managers.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors Degree required; BS Electrical Engineering degrees preferred. MBA a plus.
Experience: Up to 10 years of broad business knowledge with depth of expertise in sales within the aerospace and defense industry or active component semiconductor industry.
Demonstrated ability to drive results meeting business goals while exceeding customer expectations. Excellent sales experience in aerospace and/or defense electronics. Previous sales experience in military electronics considered a plus. Must have good financial acumen.
