Who We Are

The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) team manages both inbound and outbound cohorts of the CBYX for Young Professionals, a fellowship funded by the German Bundestag and U.S. Department of State, that annually provides 75 American and 75 German young professionals the opportunity to spend one year in each other’s countries, studying, interning, and living with hosts on a cultural immersion program. Our team is based in the U.S. and works with colleagues in the Cultural Vistas’ Berlin office to manage all aspects of the program including recruitment, selection, and implementation. The team's mission is to work with our German partner to oversee implementation of a high-level transatlantic exchange of rising American and German leaders. Our team works on creating academic and experiential learning experiences to grow appreciation for a strong German-American alliance.

Who You Are

• To be successful in this job, you will excel in representing the program to State Department and German government representatives, leading a team implementing a two-way exchange of young professionals.
• You will have experience with managing complex processes to assure participant and funder satisfaction and be comfortable working with external stakeholders, from participants, to funders, to host organizations. 
• Candidates located in Washington, DC or the DMV region are preferred.

What You’ll Do

• Your job will be to lead and support the implementation of a two-way exchange of young American and German professionals, helping them to develop skills, perspective, and cultural appreciation to grow transatlantic ties.
• At any given time, you will be responsible for representing the program to the State Department and German government offices, supporting and implementing application and selection processes, recruiting applicants (assuring diverse audiences are represented), interacting with the German implementing partner, overseeing staff implementing all aspects of the inbound program, managing a budget, measuring program impact, working with stakeholders to support and implement CYBX-wide programming, and contributing to and leading program communication and promotion.
• You will be an experienced people manager, and feel comfortable overseeing a team.
