Location:
Hanover, PA

The Plant manufactures 2-piece and 3-piece steel cans for the food industry over 7 shifts. There are approximately 95 employees at the Hanover location. The Hanover Plant is located on Route 194 in York County and is in close proximity to York, PA, Gettysburg, PA and the Maryland border.

Position overview:
The Customer Service Representative (“CSR”) will support the North America Food Division in a variety of areas. This position will interact with a variety of internal departments including but not limited to the Production Planning, Commercial, Accounting and Accounts Receivable. The CSR’s will be plant based working closely with commercial and production planning to meet the needs of the customer while also being a part of the plants day to day operations.

Duties And Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Production Planning Manager, the CSR responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:

• Receive and enter sales orders from customers
• Management of all assigned customer accounts receivables activity, chargebacks and forecasts
• Be the "voice of the company" - manage customer needs and expectations while acting in the Company's best interest
• Manage and maintain customer forecasts, releases and support planning
• Set up new customers in Crown systems
• Manage the weekly releases of the plant (entry, confirmation and edits)
• Coordination of customer orders from order to delivery
  • Communicate impacts on future production needs or inventory positioning in outside warehouses
• Verify, adjust and report daily production
• Provide input and feedback for production schedule by manufacturing lines
• Support and manage the Plants' inventory of raw materials (i.e. dunnage, lacquer, coils, coated steel, and other various packaging materials)
• Contribute to management for obsolete or slow-moving inventory
• Participate in execution of site physical inventories
• Responsible for metal forecasting (PCRs and 20-week)
• Supply data and content necessary to maintain and update required reports
• Support the commercial team with current data on forecasts and sales trends as needed

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements

• 3 years of hands-on work experience in a customer service role.
• Working experience in a manufacturing based industry.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced work environment, both as an independent contributor and also as a team player
• Effective and proven organizational skills, ability to prioritize, effective time management skills and sound decision making skills
• Sound conflict management skills and effective interpersonal skills when dealing with company employees, vendor or customers at all levels
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• A strong commitment to on-going personal development through education, work experiences or training
• Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to travel domestically and possibly internationally as needed

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a business related field
• Customer service experience with large consumer package goods companies
• Previous experience using an AS400 system
