Crossroads Courier, Inc. is Hiring an Assistant Operations Manager Near Phoenix, AZ

Job Summary:

The Assistant Operations Manager oversees the successful operation of their assigned division by establishing a good rapport with top customers and working to exceed their expectations, identifying opportunities to improve the operation and developing systems to do so, tracking operational metrics, and overseeing the staff and drivers of the division. The Assistant Operations Manager reports to the Operations Manager and has several direct reports within their division.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring to all operational staff and contracted agents
  • Partners with the Operations Manager to manage P&L for their division and identifies areas of improvement
  • Ensures all operating metrics are being met, including Direct Cost and On-Time Performance, and makes required adjustments as needed
  • Partners with Human Resources for employee relations, staff planning, and all other staff related issues
  • Cultivates relationships with customers to ensure all service level agreements are being met
  • Develops long-term business plans to ensure future growth of the operation
  • Establishes goals for the operation that align with the vision of Crossroads Courier as an organization
  • Implements new business plans, projects, and processes
  • Assists with weekly driver settlement tasks for independently contracted drivers
  • Oversees facilities maintenance
  • All other duties as assigned by Operation Manager

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience supervising employee and managing staff
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a time-critical work environment; Logistics, Hospitality, Production
  • P&L experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all people (line-staff to CEO)
  • Capacity to make decisions in a high stress environment
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and adjust as the day unfolds
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite; Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint
  • Ability to learn proprietary software quickly
