Accounts Payable Specialist
Basic Functions
- Review accuracy of agency bills and pay them according to agency policies.
- Log all client payments and process all client credit card activity.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accounts payable systems, including purchase order to invoice matching, data entry, and preparation of manual and computer generated checks.
- Process invoices in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure payments are accurate, timely and comply with policies and procedures.
- Ensure appropriate approvals are obtained prior to processing payments and payments adhere to approved contracts.
- Prepare and maintain cash disbursement journals and accounts payable log.
- Communicate with program personnel and vendors to answer questions and troubleshoot.
- Ensure invoices are charged to appropriate cost centers and accounts.
- Maintain paid invoice files.
- Assist Controller with preparation of specialized reports as needed.
- Allocate invoices to respective general ledger accounts.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Attend weekly staff meetings and monthly staff trainings.
Skills / Knowledge
- Detail oriented and organized

- PC literate with a proficiency in Windows operating systems

- Verbal and written communication
Education / Training
- Must have High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a demonstrated knowledge of non-profit bookkeeping systems.
- At least 12 college level accounting units preferred, however experience may be substituted.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of accounts payable experience.
Special Conditions
- Must be willing to undergo random drug screenings.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
