Hour: 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour

Education: High School diploma/GED with 2 years of experience working in social services or related setting required.

As a Billing Specialist, you will:

• Prepare, review, and submit accurate billing using electronic and paper processing within contracted timelines for multiple health plans.
• Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe.
• Check each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract. Research and appeal denied claims.
• Follow up with insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments if necessary.
• Ensure that information about members served, enrollment, disenrollment, eligibility information, outcome data, billing, and other pertinent information is entered accurately into EHR(s) and other documentation platforms within specified time limits.
• Verify monthly service provision requirements are met for payment throughout the month.

Additional Qualifications and Skills

• College-level bookkeeping skills required
• 1 years of accounting receivable experience
• High level of demonstrated organizational and communication skills
• Experience with medical billing is strongly preferred
• Experience using Electronic Health Record systems required
• Proficient computer skills, including MS Office
• Reliable transportation is required to fulfill the essential functions of this position. A valid California driver's license in good standing and proof of insurance are required for employees driving personal vehicles on company business
• Able to pass criminal/background clearance
