Position Summary

Summary of Essential Job Functions

• Respond to alerts generated from DLP, EDR, and WAF security products
• Utilize monitoring technologies including SIEM, logging, etc.
• Validate, triage, and quantify suspected security issues and events
• Escalate serious security issues to the Security Engineering team
• Represent IT Security on Operations Center conference calls
• Leverage understanding of basic networking: TCP/IP, ethernet, etc.
• Monitor industry for threat trends, exploits, vulnerabilities, etc.
• Participate in operational planning and security engineering efforts
• Collaborate with various infrastructure teams to improve security operations
• Perform other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

• Functional grasp of TCP/IP, Ethernet, and Internet technologies
• Working knowledge of computer terminology in general
• Familiarity with operating systems including Linux and Windows
• Fluency in a scripting language such as Python or PowerShell
• Diligence and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize activities by severity
• Ability to stay effective under pressure
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• A strong teamwork ethic
• Ability to work with multiple roles and departments
• Reasoning and analyzing complex information
