Summary

The Software Development Manager oversees a team of business analysts focused on process improvement and simple application/software development. This person will provide team oversight, technical leadership, and resource manageement for a number of business applications in support of one or more business units.

This position directs by establishing consistent communications with the business, determining priorities, defining metrics, and ensuring strong development processes. Routinely interfaces with the company’s senior business leaders and other senior members of the information technology team. Duties include managing and developing staff, capacity planning and project delivery.

Essential Functions

• Observes manual corporate/business processes and designs automated/scalable technical requirements/solutions to improve efficiency
• Directs day-to-day activities of a pooled team of resources working primarily on quick-hit, short duration projects.
• Leads and manages junior developers, providing hands on mentorship with coding best practices.
• Establishes and maintains consistent procedures, metrics and development approaches in accordance with Covius
• Collaborates with other technology managers, senior business management, and extended staff on project status and related project

Education

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, software engineering or related field is required
• Master's Degree is preferred

Experience

• Seven (7) or more years’ experience leading development
• Hands-on Development and Architecture Experience in Microsoft .NET, C# / NET, Visual Studio, MS SQL, Web Services.
• Experience in software development within the mortgage industry or financial services is a plus
• Experience in business process design and automation.
• Experience with corporate operations such as ERP systems, HRIS, billing operations, and auditing is a plus.
• Experience with business operations, such as sales taxes applicability, business regulatory compliance, and state/local regulatory compliance is a plus.
• Experience with implementing tools that meet standard/good business practices.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Quick learner, high ability to multi-task and work with 22 distinct business operations.
• Proven ability to plan and manage short-duration software development
• Familiarity with multiple software development methodologies including challenges of tradition/waterfall methodologies and artifacts (such as BRDs)
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact across the

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with non- technical

Working Conditions

Work is performed in climate controlled indoor administrative office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, depending upon office or meeting location.

• Salary Range: $96,000- $125,000K
• This position is eligible to participate in the Covius Annual Inventive Program. The target AIP for this role is 15%
