Coriander Kitchen and Farm is Hiring a Line cook Near Detroit, MI

KITCHEN TEAM MEMBER JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for line cooks to join our team! There is no yelling or demeaning communication allowed or used in our kitchen.

We are a high volume establishment in the spring-fall and medium busy establishment in the winter but we honor people's schedules and work life balance.

Coriander Kitchen and Farm is a scratch kitchen owned and operated by 2 women partners who also operate an urban organic farm.

We focus on creating food that is interesting yet approachable, healthy but delicious, upscale but affordable. We are looking for individuals with experience processing farm fresh produce but are also willing to teach those excited by local food!

Pay rate : $18-26 entry base wage based on experience.

Weekly hourly limit : 40

Availability Needed / Shifts Possibly : Evenings and weekends.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

At Coriander Kitchen and Farm we believe jobs are more enjoyable and efficient when tasks and common goals are shared among staff members.

We are hiring kitchen team members that are not exclusively line cooks, or prep cooks, dishwashers or expediters but willing to work in a team manner.

Line cook major responsibilities.

Line Cook :

  • Setting up and stocking service stations (Fry, griddle, garmo / salads) with all necessary supplies.
  • Preparing food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces).
  • Cooking menu items to order in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
  • Putting excellence into every dish in order to positively impact customer experience
  • Breaking down your line at the end of the night, wiping all surfaces, and sealing all food containers for maximum freshness.
  • Sweeping and mopping hotline kitchen
  • Sweeping back kitchen
  • Assisting with putting away dish
