The Division of Acute Care Surgery at Corewell Health West is seeking a BE/BC Burn/Critical Care Surgeon/ACS fellowship trained surgeon to join a robust clinical practice at its ACS verified Level I Adult Trauma Center. Consisting of seventeen surgeons and five advanced practice providers, the Division provides care for the burned, traumatically injured, critically ill, and emergency general surgery patients in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As one of the main teaching hospitals for Michigan State University, opportunities for education of medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as both clinical and basic science research, are abundant. The division supports an ACGME accredited Surgical Critical Care Fellowship and General Surgery Residency, graduating six residents each year. Members of the Division of Acute Care Surgery work together in a collaborative approach to provide high quality and comprehensive care for our patients.
Corewell Health West Medical Group (CHWMG) is a multispecialty physician group dedicated to providing excellent patient care and building a healthier community. Butterworth Hospital serves as a tertiary and quaternary referral center encompassing a referral area of over 9 million people, and is supported by an extensive EMS and AeroMed flight system. With over 350,000 Emergency Room visits and 75,000 hospital admission each year and increasing, there is significant opportunity for growth of our regional system.
The ideal candidate will be board eligible or certified in General Surgery and in Surgical Critical Care.Coverage of the Burn, Trauma, and Emergency General Surgery services is expected, with possible Surgical ICU coverage, if qualified.
