Corewell Health Corporate is Hiring a Physician - Neurovascular / 100% Stroke - Grand Rapids, MI Near Grand Rapids, MI

Corewell Health’s Department of Neurological Health is seeking to add a full-time vascular neurologist to their five fellowship-trained vascular neurologist team.This new addition will participate in the Joint Commission certified Comprehensive Stroke Center at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan and support outreach to our surrounding regional hospitals.In addition to research opportunities, the position includes teaching in the neurology residency and stroke fellowship with faculty appointments through Michigan State University.

Essential Functions
  • Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others.
  • Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.
  • Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care.
  • Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.
  • Evaluates patients'/significant others'/staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.
  • Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.
  • Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient/family advocate.
  • Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development/application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities.
    Actively works with Spectrum Health to meet financial and patient satisfaction goals.
Qualifications
  • Required Bachelor's Degree
  • LIC-Physician (MD) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
  • LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-DEA Registration - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required Or
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 120 Days required
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association If required by specialty or stress test performed 120 Days required
