corelab is Hiring an Operations Manager I - TX & OK Near Houston, TX

JOB PURPOSE

The position manages location(s) tracing and logging operations under the guidance of the US Operations Manager. Manages all operations, location personnel and safety programs in the designated location. Responsible for the day-to-day operational duties of the location. Defines team operating standards and ensures essential procedures are followed based on knowledge of own discipline. Decisions and problem-solving are guided by policies, procedures, and business plan. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Has accountability for the performance and results of a team within own discipline or function. Coordinates the activities of professional staff in an assigned work area and/or manages first-line supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manages the profitability of the districts including the timely preparation, completion, and submission of financial and operation reports required by the company.
  • Advises management of financial and operational issues and resolution plans.
  • Prepares and manages annual budget for the designated location.
  • Ensures location employees are in alignment with HR policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Maintains all required quality control documents, which are available for audit at all times.
  • Monitors personnel and staff technical, safety and policy training. Ensures that all employees of the location pass appropriate examinations and other safety, performance and compliance training required by any and all applicable regulations.
  • Manages the districts’ employees and ensures their compliance with acceptable work habits, safety requirements, company policies, compliance to standards and policies, accuracy of test results and reporting of those results, attitude, and all other aspects of their job performance.
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate administration of the any required information systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or some other comparable technical field or a HS diploma, GED or equivalent and 4 years additional experience is required.

EXPERIENCE 

9 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE

Proficient knowledge of own discipline.

SKILLS

  • Verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to prepare and communicate safety reports and laboratory findings.
  • Analytical capabilities including a full command of mathematics, weights, and measures to calculate and interpret laboratory findings and reports.
  • Interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working within defined parameters in close alignment with supervision.

The working environment will result in the employee being exposed to various weather conditions in an outdoor environment, sun, heat, wind, cold, rain, etc.

Employee will be expected to heed weather conditions and prepare accordingly. Safety and clothing for harsh weather conditions and work-related safety accessories will be provided.

Employee may be required to work and travel in climate and non-climate controlled environments. All appropriate precautions will be taken to ensure the facilities conform to HSE standards and regulations.

Employee may be required to travel by air, sea, and public/private ground transport. Employee will be required to work at both onshore and offshore oil and gas well sites.
