Summary

The Staff Accountant will provide general accounting support. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: general ledger accountability, financial reporting, as well as financial profitability analysis and other special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Assumes responsibility for executing a variety of financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings and general ledger entries
• Assumes responsibility for general ledger accruals and balance sheet account reconciliations including intercompany transactions
• Prepares documentation for external auditors
• Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes
• Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• One to two years of experience in accounting or related field
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the field
• Strong Computer Skills including MS Excel and Word.
• Accuracy in daily work and other projects
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational abilities
• Ability to work independently as well as in team environment

• Able to handle a fast-paced work environment with multiple demands, competing priorities and rapid change; responds with a sense of urgency and consistently meets deadlines

• Professional demeanor and interpersonal effectiveness; able to collaborate and effectively communicate cross-functionally with non-Finance teams

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

• CPA
• Great Plains experience
• Oracle NetSuite experience
