Position Summary:

Our firm is interviewing for an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to join our firm. In this role, you will be responsible for greeting clients and delivering an exceptional experience. This entails answering calls and emails and fielding them accordingly, addressing visitor questions and needs, and providing an overall welcoming and professional environment. This oftentimes includes performing ad hoc administrative duties as needed, such as copying, scan projects, and preparation of trial notebooks.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • While located in Columbus, this role will answer and triage phone calls, emails, and snail mail for two (and growing) locations. This should be done with a welcoming approach, often handling multiple demands at once.
  • Welcome visitors to the firm in a warm and friendly manner and answer any questions they have.
  • Maintain reception area, kitchenette, and all common areas in a clean and tidy manner. Take inventory of supplies and restock as needed.
  • Operate standard office equipment on a regular basis, including a multifunction copier and a computer. A basic understanding of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat is a necessity.
  • Receive deliveries; sort and distribute incoming mail
  • Maintain the general office electronic filing system
  • May often be asked to perform billable work such as scanning and organizing discovery

Qualifications, Skills, and Traits:

  • Administrative experience is a requirement, preferably in the legal field
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to approach sensitive and personal client information with respect, discretion, and compassion
  • A genuineness, relatability, and approachability perceivable by clients and staff
  • Technology savviness and appreciation for an paperless work environment
  • An inherent ability to plan and organize time, whereby create a consistent work routine
  • Paralegal experience in family law is a huge bonus and could help with trajectory in this role and within the company

Salary and Benefits:

Starting at $40,000

Ancillary benefits are negotiable

Location:

Our home office is located within walking distance of the Franklin County Courthouse in Downtown Columbus. To be considered for this Legal Administrative Assistant role, you must live in or be willing to commute daily to our Columbus location, during standard business hours.
