Sunward Steel Buildings is a family-owned, American manufacturer, that has been in business for nearly 50 years. We sell, engineer, and manufacture custom metal buildings, including industrial and manufacturing facilities, barns, arenas, fitness facilities, agricultural buildings, shops, aircraft hangars, residential barndominums, self-storage facilities, and much more! We deliver these buildings to every state in the U.S. as well as Canada. We exist to fulfill our customers’ dreams and goals. We are a long-established company with a great reputation in the industry and a wide-open market full of opportunities. Our leaders want to grow and we are looking for a Sales Director who is excited about this team and opportunity.
Hiring Goal
As a closely-held, family-owned company we have mostly had an informal but very successful sales team. This year we have invested in capturing and formalizing our best practices and developing great sales training. Our next steps will include developing and formalizing our product training.
Our ideal Sales Director will take the lead in building a high-performing sales culture. This will include hiring and developing team members and sales managers and creating cultural touchpoints for high standards and accountability. This is a great opportunity for the right person to build a team in their image, with drive, passion, problem-solving, and taking action along with excellent customer service and high integrity. We imagine our ideal candidate to be confident in their ability to lead a B2C sales team, dealing with an extended sales cycle that includes several variables and team members.
The Sales Director needs to be good at and enjoy building productive relationships with all parties as our sales are highly collaborative with multiple parties inside the organization. Additionally, the best candidate will have a natural drive and competitive spirit, be action-oriented, and a problem solver who likes figuring out the puzzle and getting the deal done. Our customers are general contractors, final owners, and some architects. You should be excited, as we are, to work with and serve these extraordinary people.
At this stage of our team development, our sales director will easily step into any part of the process to help qualify a potential customer, move deals through our internal system, or close a deal. This will, at times, be a hands-on role as the team becomes better established and continues to grow.
Specifically, we are looking for someone with experience operating in-between established formal processes of large corporations and the informality and tribal knowledge of smaller companies. A critical part of this role will be to help us continue to formalize and operationalize our sales process and to help us scale as we continue to grow.
