Accountant

A chemical manufacturer located near Charleston, WV, has an immediate opening for an Accountant. Areas of responsibility are organizing, evaluating, and executing financial and logistical services for the plant, including accounting, financial forecasting, budgeting, capital expenditures, taxes, inventory management, and other supportive duties.

More specifically, this position:

1. Budget

1) Assists in the preparation of annual budget and mid-term forecasts

2) Assists in monitoring actual costs vs budget

3) Assists with monitoring and reconciling cost to contract for any expenses including projects

4) Reviews capital budget requests

2. Financial Statement

1) Assists with the preparation of statements monthly: Balance sheet, Profit and Loss, and Cash Flow; other reports as needed

2) Assists with monitoring all matters related to the financial statements

3) Assists with the reconciliation of all general ledger accounts and sub-ledgers

3. Cost Accounting

1) Assists with evaluating and adjusting standard and actual costs of production at budget prep

2) Prepares analysis report of variances between actual costs vs standard

3) Prepares analysis of production variance for each production order

4) Audit cycle count and physical inventories

4. Finance

1) Assists with Account Payables process

2) Assists with Invoicing and Accounts Receivable process

3) Prepares cash and bank account reconciliations

5. Logistics

1) Assists with Inventory Management

2) Assists with Asset Management

3) Assists with Spare parts inventory monitoring

6. Tax

1) Assists with preparation of Personal Property Tax Application

2) Assists with the information for Transfer Price

3) Assists with monthly sales/use taxes

7. Administration Support

1) Draft policies

2) Champion special projects

3) Support human resources functions

4) Support purchasing functions

Education/Experience:

· Required: Minimum of five years of experience working in a General Accounting or Finance or related role

· Four-year degree in accounting or relevant degree

· Preferred:

1. Experience in manufacturing.

2. CPA preferred, but not required.

3. Knowledge of ERP system operation.

4. Knowledge of the field of purchasing and business contracts with material suppliers etc.

5. Knowledge of the field of logistics, especially inventory management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $69,000.00 - $73,000.00 per year
