Concrete Placing Company (CPC) Is currently seeking a Concrete Curb Machine Operator to support construction projects within the Treasure valley area. The Curb Machine Operator will work on commercial, DOT and residential projects including curb, sidewalk, gutter, ramps and other flatwork as needed. Concrete professionals are a critical component to CPC’s 60 years of success in the construction industry.

Job Responsibilities:

• Understand and practice safe, productive operation of the curb machine, slump, speed, vibes, keep the machine moving.
• Daily machine maintenance – Clean, fuel, oil, grease, sensors, vibrators, trimmer, water pump, maintenance reporting.
• Know the capabilities of the curb machine - Systems – engine, hydraulic, electrical.
• Know how to change molds, vibrators, sensors, and trimmers properly and efficiently.
• Set up the machine on dry line to get properly adjusted. Communicate with others on how the machine is set up – offset and elevations.
• Have the mechanical aptitude to work through mechanical breakdowns. Communicate with the shop Mechanic on repairs needed. Look for solutions.
• Can visually identify concrete slumps and how they affect specific curb types, speed of travel, and vibes.
• Finish concrete which may include dye, color, stamp or various other types of finish.
• Can figure concrete yardage, yield, set concrete spacing, slump.
• Can direct and coordinate mixer trucks while on site.
• Can track and install footage and yield per yard.
• Communicate with supervisor, finishers, and laborers on all fronts.
• Can assist in loading & restocking the trucks, help take down string, cure curb, and whatever is needed to complete the day.
• Measure quantities for the day (lineal footage, SF, SY Etc.)

Necessary Skills:

• 2-3 years Curb Machine Operator Experience is a must.
• Can do attitude, willingness to be a team player, and be a positive.
• Ability to stay on task, multi-task, and pay attention to details.
• Be honest and willing to communicate with management and co-workers, verbally, by text, phone calls, etc.
• Willingness to take direction from Concrete Foreman.
• Able to lift or carry 50-75# on rough terrain.
• Appreciate other crew members and their roles.
• Time management and diligence are a must.
