CONCRETE PLACING COMPANY is Hiring a Concrete Finisher Near Boise, ID

Concrete Finishers needed at jobsites in Boise, ID and the surrounding area. Concrete Placing Co., Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug free workplace. Pre-employment drug test is mandatory. Wage is $30 per hour, DOE. Benefits are available after 60 days for Health, Vision and Dental insurance.

The Concrete Finisher, under direction of a Foreman, will be responsible for placing, finishing, protecting and repairing concrete. Concrete finishers are often responsible for setting the concrete forms and ensuring they have the correct depth and slope.

  • Work Ethic: Dedicated and hardworking
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal communication and team work skills are necessary as proper completion of an assigned job and working safe will be highly dependent upon this ability.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, including manuals.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work in a number of diverse locations is pertinent, as work locations may change daily.
  • Coordination: Depth perception and eye-hand coordination are critical.
  • Expected Hours: Hours will vary by job, location and season. Working a night shift and weekends may be required

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Signals concrete deliverer to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete.
  • Moves discharge chute of truck to direct concrete into forms.
  • Spreads concrete into sections of forms with rake or shovel.
  • Levels concrete to specified depth and workable consistency, with hand held screed and floats to bring water to surface and produce soft topping.
  • Smooths and shapes surfaces of freshly poured concrete.
  • Finishes concrete surfaces, or wets and rubs concrete with abrasive stone to impact finish.
  • Removes rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces, and patches holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound.
  • Molds expansion joints and edges.
  • Produces rough concrete surface with broom.
  • Breaks up and repairs old concrete surfaces.
  • Able to set up Screed, Bidwell and other equipment to specifications
  • Regular attendance required.

Experience/Education:

  • 2 years of experience as a concrete finisher with strong skill set in shaping and smoothing out concrete surfaces.
  • Must have experience using a straight edge finishing tool.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this Job, the Concrete Finisher is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The Concrete Finisher is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The Concrete Finisher is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The Concrete Finisher must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Ascending and descending ladders or stairs is required, and movement on uneven terrain is occasionally required to carry out essential duties. Occasional driving of a vehicle is required.

Candidates will need a Tool Belt with the following:

Tape Measure, Hammer, Pencil, Utility Knife, Torpedo Level, 4’ Level, Speed Square, Crescent Wrench, Chalk Line, Lineman Pliers, 10 lb Sledgehammer, Magnesium Float, Steel Trowel, Margin Trowel, Darby.
