Summary

The Service Desk Technician 2 will be part of our support team providing exceptional customer service by focusing on finding the right solution with each client. The successful candidate will be a natural troubleshooter with the ability to also escalate issues proactively when needed. This position will be in our New Jersey/PA office and requires travel to client sites and on-call and after hours availability, which would be scheduled in advance.

Qualifications Include:

• Preferred certifications: A , Network , VMware VSP, Microsoft
• Preferred work experience: Managed Service Provider or consulting environment
• Preferred systems experience: ConnectWise, Labtech, Microsoft Office
• Valid driver’s license
• 1-3 years recent, relevant experience in an IT client support/engineering role
• Strong critical and analytical problem solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Exceptional attention to detail and highly organized
• Comfortable multi-tasking
• Vibrant and willing to contribute to a fun atmosphere

A successful Desktop Support Technician will be able to:

• Answer help desk calls, create client tickets, and provide support
• Perform preventative maintenance to workstations and systems including movement, lifting and disassembly as needed for cleaning, etc.
• Support Windows/MAC desktops and Windows servers/terminal servers
• Review log files and update the tickets or reports
• Backup, antivirus, RMM and/or firewall
• Complete the overnight patching schedule, tracking to ensure back online and create patch report
• Install and configure desktop operation systems
• Install physical computer equipment including switches, workstations, monitors, printers, scanners and associated technology
• Troubleshoot TCP/IP, Internet connectivity and wireless technologies
• Understand the relationship between switches, hubs, patch panels and connecting nodes to a network
• Manage multiple projects effectively and timely ranging in size and complexity
• Work collaboratively with CompassMSP’s existing support team
