Job Summary
The Conference Center Manager, reporting directly to the Regional Vice President, will lead the day to day operations of a conference center for a well-known media company. The position entails a need for a true professional with excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task, provide strong team leadership, enhance client relations and ensure outstanding product and exceptional customer service.
The conference center offers multiple meeting / event spaces and screening rooms to execute over 1,100 high-end events annually for the client as well as for external customers. Total revenue averages $3M in both internal and external meetings & events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directly manages a team of 5, and liaises with 13 onsite AV techs, porters and the catering team.
- Leads overall day to day operations of the account
- Is responsible for all P&L and budgeting
- Conducts HR functions including hiring, progressive counseling, terminations
- Oversees scheduling, payroll and team training
- Maintains excellent relationships with customers, guests and Client as well as other departments
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS, Hospitality degree preferred
- Five years of conference management experience
- Prior experience in budgeting and preparing financial reports
- Ability to interface expertly with high-end clientele
- Strong supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate on various levels to include management, client, customer, and associate levels
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
