Kira Learning is Hiring a Senior Conference & Events Manager Near New York, NY

About Kira Learning
Kira Learning is creating curriculum and learning tools that empower teachers and prepare students for a world in which technology and science play pivotal roles in everyone's lives. By way of our expert-backed content and intuitive, integrated teaching platform, Kira is intent on transforming the way computer science and artificial intelligence is taught and learned.
We are backed by top-tier Venture Capital funds including New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Andrew Ng's AI Fund, and Primavera.
We're looking for a Senior Conference and Events Manager to establish and own Kira Learning's presence at key conferences in the AI and Computer Science education space. This person will not only identify conferences for us to attend, but own the planning, development and execution for each event, focused on growing the community around Kira Learning, deepening existing relationships with our customers, and inspiring change in CS and AI education. As we continue to grow Kira Learning's brand, this person will also own the strategy behind any event hosted by Kira and CS Forward, including but not limited to large conferences, regional workshops, and internal team offsites. The ideal candidate is a strong project manager with the ability to manage multiple timelines and projects, has a keen eye for detail, and is excited to represent Kira Learning as we continue to establish ourselves as experts on CS education and AI.
Responsibilities & Duties
    • Establish the conference and event calendar for Kira Learning, and build out strategic KPIs to ensure we are contributing to both brand awareness and revenue goals.
    • Manage simultaneous event timelines at once with a strict adherence to agreed-upon deadlines.
    • Own the end-to-end planning and project management for each event:
    • Build out timelines, project plans, and a master agenda
    • Own all planning calls with internal teams to align on clear and measurable goals for each event
    • Be the point person for any speaker management - drafting invitation language, tracking invitations, high-level speaker prep and onsite support.
    • Own the final review and approval of all content, materials and collateral
    • Oversee communications logistics including lodging and food and beverage
    • Act as a thought leader and ambassador for Kira Learning.
    • Develop event budget, schedules, and track expenses for each event, optimizing spend to maximize ROI. Monitor and report on budget performance regularly.
    • Conduct post-event analysis to evaluate the success of each event, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement. Use data-driven insights to refine future events.
Experience & Skills
    • 5-7 years planning and attending conferences, and a consistent track record of success with planning and implementing large-scale events
    • Creative problem solver who can develop outstanding event concepts that resonate with the target audience
    • Highly analytical approach to tracking event initiatives, creating efficient and scalable programs, and driving measurable ROI
    • Excellent project management skills, including budgeting and vendor management
    • Strong communicator with the ability to establish relationships with internal and external collaborators
    • A passion for CS and AI education and Kira's vision and mission
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills; you can patiently, professionally and effectively communicate with a diverse and multicultural group of peers across time zones and continents
    • Nimble and adaptable. Can roll with the punches and thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment
    • A positive, can-do attitude. You're not deterred by minor setbacks and are able to swiftly overcome ambiguity
    • You believe feedback is a gift. You can thoughtfully share feedback to others as needed, and you can receive feedback and grow from it.
    • Will consistently cultivate a culture of inclusion where all team members feel a sense of belonging and can bring their authentic selves to work
    • Strong proficiency in Google Workspace programs, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management software tools.
