Position Summary

This role is responsible for the overall leadership, growth and success of the member center and its team members. This position is responsible for serving as the Credit Union’s lead advocate and champion within the member center and surrounding communities by actively identifying, cultivating, and soliciting opportunities to increase membership growth, loan growth, product penetration, and developing new business relationships for the Credit Union. The Member Center Manager is responsible for the overall member center operations ensuring the financial, compliance, and sales and service objectives are met, including individual and team sales responsibilities. Through these actions, this role is responsible for knowing the pulse of their member center’s community, team and how it has impacted the financial well-being of its membership. The Member Center Manager should know their member center the best. This role contributes to the Credit Union as a Manager and manages the Member Center team; either directly or indirectly through additional member center leadership. This role partners with other retail leaders and the overall management team of the organization.

Position Competencies

  • Coaching : Develop each employee to their highest potential by identifying areas for improvement and celebrating strengths. Essential Duties

  • Develop and coach to sales goals and strategies to achieve established key performance measurements.
  • Ensure accuracy and thoroughness of documentation and data entry during account opening, loan application/closings, and maintenance of memberships.
  • Hold employees accountable for their performance, attitude and behavior.
  • Demonstrate enthusiastic support of corporate purpose, core values and long-term objectives.
  • Performs job duties within our bylaws, regulations, Board of Directors policies, established internal and external service standards and our work procedures.
  • Maintains a highly motivated, well-trained staff maintaining effective employee relations.
  • Evaluate and clearly communicate timely team member performance appraisals, recommending promotions, and reassignment, to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services to all members.
  • Develop, apply, and maximize opportunities for process improvements, policies and procedures for the Member Center to reduce operating costs while achieving revenue goals.
  • Prepare and submit standard reports of goal achievement to communicate and aid Senior Management in organizational accomplishments.
  • Work with the internal auditor to ensure the consistent application of policies and practices within the frontline compliance with NCUA and all other legal requirements and regulations.
  • Prepare, implement and manage Member Center business plan and budget for the Member Center operations to remain consistent with the overall strategic plan and budget for the credit union.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of quality applicants to develop an effective and enthusiastic sales team.

    Education

    Bachelor’s degree: Business - Preferred.

    Experience

    Two to five years of successful leadership experience: Preference in a sales environment.

    Thorough knowledge of the financial industry

    Thorough knowledge of products, services, and policies

    Familiarity with Branch functions, policies, and procedures

    Excellent sales and service aptitude and capability

    Ability to successfully lead and grow branch profitability

    Ability to perform business development and external sales activity

    Ability to prioritize tasks by critical vs. non-critical and by deadline

    Formalized Management and/or Leadership training and certification is preferred

    Completion of the FinCep Certification per Standardized Financial Planning within the established deadline

    Strong interpersonal, leadership, and supervisory skills
