Full Time, Exempt Position

Annual Salary Range: $67,704-$69,888

The Community Child Care Council (4Cs) is looking for an outstanding individual to

join the Site Supervisor team. The Site Supervisor manages the preschool’s daily

program activities, oversees planning and implementation of developmentally

appropriate curriculum, and supervises all staff. Site Supervisors are supervised by

the Director of Preschool Programs. Site Supervisors work closely with, and in the

absence of the Director of Preschool Programs are supervised by, the Assistant

Director of Preschool Programs and the Facilities Director.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide and ensure excellent leadership at the center. Demonstrate a

positive attitude, as well as a friendly and approachable tone of voice and

body language with the entire center community: families, children, and co-

workers.

  • Oversee planning and implementation of a developmentally appropriate

preschool program curriculum.

  • Serve as lead teacher in the center, supervising children in the daily program

activities.

  • Oversee the use of current CDE/EED assessment instrument (DRDP) and

provide staff support as needed

  • In collaboration with staff, coordinate the planning and implementation of

parent involvement activities.

  • Orient new parents and hold a formal parent conference at least twice

during the school year.

  • Oversee the daily work of the cook including proper meal preparation,

documentation of meal counts and amounts served, and procedures for

CACFP compliance. Supervise shopping, kitchen maintenance, and clean up

after meals.

  • Assess social service and health needs of families and provide necessary

referrals.

  • Supervise the maintenance of all required State and program records.
  • Ensure compliance with all funder and licensing regulations.
  • Lead center staff meetings and attend in-service training as scheduled.
  • Supervise, mentor and evaluate all center staff. Partner with the Director of

Preschool Programs and Human Resources to appropriately address

employee performance issues.

  • Attend and participate in bi-monthly Site Supervisor meetings as scheduled.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of appropriate staff development

and training activities.

  • With program staff, set goals and evaluate program annually.
  • Act as a liaison to community groups and agencies as requested by the

Program Director.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with CA Department of Education preschool funded programs –

Preferred.

  • Experience using the EED assessment instrument- Desired Results

Developmental Profile (DRDP).

  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills in English

and *Spanish (preferred).

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel,

Outlook) and internet.

  • Ability to work well with people from various social, cultural, economic and

educational backgrounds.

  • Criminal record clearance (Livescan).
  • Must meet all relevant funding and licensing requirements (CA CCL, Title 22,

Title 5).

  • Proof of current Immunizations (Measles, Pertussis, Influenza). T.B. clearance

within 1 year.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Current Site Supervisor Permit issued by CA Commission on Teacher

Credentialing– Required.

  • Bachelor’s in early childhood education or related field – Preferred.
  • Current certification in CPR and Pediatric First Aid. Training completed in

preventative health practices, mandated reporter, and CCL childcare center

operations and record keeping orientation.

  • Minimum 5 years supervisory and leadership experience in a childcare or

preschool program.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Preschool Site

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Health clearance by physician; ability to fulfill physical requirements of the

job: lifting up to 50 pounds, range of movement including squatting, bending,

reaching, standing and sitting.

TRAVEL:

  • Local travel required; must have an insured automobile and a valid California

Driver’s License.
