4Cs Now Hiring: Child Development Coach
Part-Time Position (10 hours per week), Non-Exempt

Starting Pay: $35 - $39 per hour

Position is located in Santa Rosa

Office Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30 AM – 5 PM

The Community Child Care Council is looking for a Child Development Coach to join

the 4Cs team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in providing tailored

support to the teaching team as they engage with children who have specific

learning or developmental needs.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with Site Supervisor and teacher team to develop and implement

personalized teaching strategies and activities for children with specific

needs.

  • Conduct observations to identify each child’s unique strengths and

challenges, and then collaborate with teachers to create individualized

learning plans.

  • Knowledge of professional development planning and standardized child

care assessments, such as DRDP, CLASS and ERS.

  • Provide technical assistance, training and coaching to assigned classrooms.
  • Ability to analyze program assessment results to create and implement

action plans for individualized program goals.

  • Knowledge of the Sonoma County Quality Improvement Rating System,

rating matrix and process.

  • Provide onsite instructional and environmental support and resources,

modeling successful childhood teaching strategies and techniques.

  • Attend and participate in staff, department meetings or trainings as

necessary.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of current child development research, trends and best practices

in early learning settings including childcare centers.

  • Experience with evidence based professional development tools, like CLASS

and ERS, standards and competencies.

  • Knowledge of Sonoma County Quality Improvement Rating System rating

matrix and process.

  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience and ability to work well as a team and with people from various

social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.

  • Valid Driver’s License and insured vehicle.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in child development or a closely related field.
  • Knowledge of current child development research, trends and best practices

in early learning settings including child care centers and licensed family child

care homes.

  • Minimum one year supervisory or administrative experience.
  • 10 years of experience in a teacher or supervisorial role in early learning

setting.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Preschool Site(s)

PHYSICAL REQUIEMENTS:

  • Health clearance by physician; ability to fulfill physical requirements of the

job including lifting 15-50 pounds, range of movement including squatting,

bending, reaching, standing, and sitting.

TRAVEL:

  • Frequent travel to various 4Cs childcare sites.
