Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Finance Director to join our team. The Finance Assistant, under the direction of the Finance Director, is responsible for day-to-day financial administration across the organization. This will involve providing support with various tasks including Payroll processing, and monthly reports.
Responsibilities:
· Assist with financial data entry and general bookkeeping
· Manage data, records, and reports by checking for errors and verifying accuracy of information
· Analysis and preparation of quarterly grant reports
· Printing and reviewing of monthly revenue and expense reports by program for distribution to Program Managers, Executive Director, and Finance Director
· Provide role in segregation of duties within the Finance Department to meet general accounting standards
· Work with the Finance Director preparing agency’s financial reports for annual audit and Board meetings
· Processing of agency’s bi-weekly payroll using ADP’s Workforce software
· Preparation of Bi-Weekly Payroll journal entry
· Revision of Payroll time and effort allocations on a quarterly basis
· Funding and reconciliation of agency’s 403B withholdings
· Assist with annual audit and other financial reviews by outside sources: Run reports, analyze results, and obtain information as needed
· Adhere to current accounting/finance laws and regulations in the nonprofit sector
· Perform other accounting and/payroll related duties as requested by Executive Director, Finance Director, or HR Director
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
- Proven experience in a senior finance role
- Solid understanding of financial analysis techniques and cost control principles
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Exceptional financial management skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present complex financial information to non-financial Board Members
- Knowledge of State and Federal agency programs, including eligibility and reporting requirements
